Description

NanoSight NS300 High resolution nanoparticle size and concentration data The Malvern Panalytical NanoSight NS300 Instrument provides an easy-to-use, reproducible platform for nanoparticle characterization. The NS300 allows rapid analysis of the size distribution and concentration of all types of nanoparticles from 0.01 - 1 µm in diameter, depending on the instrument configuration and sample type. With the ability to be supplied with interchangeable laser modules and the introduction of a motorized filter wheel means different fluorescent labels can be analyzed. Sample temperature is fully programmable through the Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) software.

Key Differences

This versatile instrument offers the major benefit of minimum user set-up,  enhanced concentration measurements via advanced algorithms and fluorescence detection capability providing truly holistic analysis. The fully software-controlled filter wheel means automated analysis of fluorescent markers can be performed while walk-away NTA measurements for multiple samples can be performed when used with the Sample Assistant accessory

  • Measure over 1000 particles in just 60 seconds.

  • Particle by particle analysis for high resolution size and concentration.

  • Visual validation of results gives extra confidence.

  • User friendly software with easy set up of SOPs for routine use.

  • Minimal sample preparation.

  • On board temperature control.

  • Choice of laser wavelengths.

  • Add up to 5 additional filters in a motorized wheel for flexible fluorescence detection capability.

  • Complies with Industry Standards ISO 19430:2016 and ASTM E 2834:2012

The NanoSight NS300 uses the technology of Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA). This technology utilizes the properties of both light scattering and Brownian motion in order to obtain the size distribution and concentration measurement of particles in liquid suspension. A laser beam is passed through the sample chamber, and the particles in suspension in the path of this beam scatter light in such a manner that they can easily be visualized via 20x magnification microscope onto which is mounted a camera. The camera operates at 30 frames per second (fps), capturing a video file of the particles moving under Brownian motion. The software tracks many particles individually and using the Stokes-Einstein equation calculates their hydrodynamic diameters. The measurement is controlled via Standard Operating Procedures which are set with a user-friendly software interface.

The Malvern Panalytical NanoSight NS300 can be used in many key applications, including:

  • Extracellular Vesicles (EV)

  • Virus and Vaccines

  • Drug Delivery & Gene Therapy

  • Biotherapeutics

  • Nanomaterials/colloids/toxicology
