Vaya Handheld Raman Spectrometer for Raw Material Identification

Agilent

The Agilent Vaya handheld Raman spectrometer increases raw material identification throughput without increasing costs by reducing the need for sampling. From clear glass vials to brown paper sacks, Vaya offers best-in-class identification testing through transparent containers, and transformative handheld Raman identification through nontransparent containers—for the fastest possible release to manufacturing.

Vaya improves current testing protocols—from low volume sampling to 100% identification testing—and if regulators require more testing in future, you can move to a higher-throughput process without any additional equipment. The system combines conventional handheld Raman spectrometer technology with unique spatially offset Raman spectroscopy (SORS) for maximum sample/container compatibility. With a dedicated raw material identification workflow, Vaya is fast, fully compliant, easy to deploy, and simple to use, requiring minimal training or operator skill.

TRS100 Quantitative Pharmaceutical Analysis System

Agilent

The TRS100 enables fast, easy-to-use whole tablet or capsule content uniformity and polymorph screening for pharmaceutical finished-product testing and formulation development. Easier to implement than other spectroscopic methods, Agilent's transmission Raman spectroscopy (TRS) technology allows simple method development and deployment for quantitative analysis in quality control applications.

A TRS100 system can reduce content uniformity, assay, and ID tests to minutes per batch, saving significant cost and speeding up your quality control workflow. Sample preparation and consumables are not needed, meaning skilled analytical resources are not required. Content uniformity testing methods using transmission Raman have been approved by regulators using ICH and regulatory authority-acceptable protocols.

RapID Raw Material ID Verification System

Agilent

The RapID Raman system is the next generation in raw material testing for pharmaceutical GMP quality control. RapID is a portable Raman spectrometer that uses Agilent’s spatially offset Raman spectroscopy (SORS) technology to extend high-throughput spectroscopic analysis through clear packaging to nontransparent and colored containers. This unique capability makes RapID ideally suited to noninvasive raw material identity verification.

With conventional techniques, raw material testing in opaque containers can create a bottleneck in pharmaceutical manufacturing. A dedicated sampling area is needed to open, sample, test, and reseal each container to verify the identity of the contents. The RapID system allows the operator to verify the contents of each container through opaque and colored packaging in seconds, enabling release immediately into production. This saving on handling and lab testing reduces the overhead from hours or days to only minutes per batch.
