Binary Pump Module

The Uniqsis Binary Pump Module (BPM) is a dual-channel high-pressure reagent delivery system. It utilizes 2x HPLC pumps (10 or 50ml/min each) that have been modified to improve chemical compatibility making it ideal for multi-component or multi-step reactions that require more than two starting materials.

The unit can be used to upgrade the FlowSyn system to 4 channels, or as a standalone dual pumping module. The unit benefits from automated inlet/outlet selection valves and has 3 internal pressure transducers (two monitor pump head pressures, the third measures outlet pressure from the embedded mixer module to monitor system performance and an inbuilt back pressure regulator, it can be used in combination with reactor modules to build custom flow chemistry reactor systems (FlowLab Plus).

The BPM has both RS232 and WLAN capability and is controlled using an app. installed on the laptop supplied.

Options include flow paths in PTFE, 316L SS, or Hastelloy C276. The standard Pmax can be increased to 200bar if required.

FlowLab Plus™ is a customizable flow chemistry system based around the Uniqsis Binary Pump™ dual-channel reagent delivery system that offers the chemist the optimal solution in terms of flexibility and scope for modification. All FlowLab Plus systems may be operated via dedicated Wi-Fi

The system can be configured in a variety of ways with different pump and reactor options to run both manual and automated flow chemistry reactions.

PUMPS: Start with the BPM (Binary Pump Module) 2-channel reagent delivery module - additional standalone pumps or another BPM may be added to increase the number of available input channels.

REACTORS: Any combination of up to 4 reactor modules may be added selecting from: HotCoil™ heated coil reactor, HotChip™ heated 'chip' (GSM) reactor, Polar Bear Plus Flow™ (heated/cooled coil reactor), or the Polar Bear Plus GSM™ (heated/cooled 'chip') reactor modules.
All coil reactor modules can be converted to multi-position column reactors by fitting the HotColumn Adaptor™.

DETECTORS: The Flow-UV™ is a solid-state, in-line UV-Vis detector specifically designed for flow chemistry applications. It is ideal for monitoring dispersion in real-time and thereby ensuring that product or sample collection is initiated at the optimum moment.

SOFTWARE and FRACTION COLLECTION: 2-channel systems configured to run single experiments may be controlled by the software supplied with the Binary Pump Module.
However, for 3/4 channel systems and/or combinations with a fraction collector that are enabled to perform experiments in sequence, the FlowControl II™ software package is required. This software also allows all experiment details and data to be saved and/or reloaded.

The Auto-LF™ II upgrade package may also be added to automate the filling of all reagent sample loops.

Auto-LF II is a flexible and powerful system upgrade for running multiple experiments under different sets of conditions with selected reagent inputs delivered from automatically pre-loaded sample loops.

The clever simultaneous loop filling and fraction collection save valuable time, while the integrated wash steps prevent cross-contamination. Interactive displays of pressure and temperature on PC allow real-time reaction monitoring as well as data logging.

The upgrade can be further enhanced by the addition of the Flow-UV inline UV/vis spectrophotometer to enable automated UV-directed product/fraction collection using pre-defined criteria.

The FlowSyn Multi-experiment package (FlowSyn Multi-X) uses an enhanced FlowSyn control interface to control either a single or a 4-rack fraction collector thereby enabling a sequence of experiments to be performed without the need for a separate PC.

Capable of running unattended, it will perform up to 10 sequential experiments and collect the results as fractions or steady-state samples allowing the user to vary the key flow-through parameters (stoichiometry, temperature, and residence time) in each case.

Add the Data Logging Software Package to both visualize data in real-time and save pressure and temperature traces.

Upgrade further by adding FlowControl II system control software which links via Wi-Fi and automatically saves complete experimental procedures with all data, including automation events. FlowControl II allows previous experiments to be reloaded and either viewed or repeated with or without modification. Moreover, additional pumps and reactor modules can be added and sequences of up to 100 individual experiments can be performed.

HotChip™ - GSM Heater Module
Uniqsis

The Uniqsis Hotchip is a versatile standalone heated reactor module that is compatible with all Uniqsis glass static mixer/reactor blocks (GSMs).

The unit can be combined with an existing pump or the Uniqsis BPM to build your own flow reactor system or used as an upgrade to the FlowSyn to increase throughput for scale-up applications.

Temperatures can be set either remotely (RS232, LAN) or using the 'push-to-set' control. The animated display indicates, heat-up, cool-down and steady-state conditions and is easily visible from outside the fume cupboard.

Optional upgrades are available to increase the maximum operating temperature from 230oC to 260oC and to enable rapid cool-down by connecting a low-pressure laboratory gas supply.

PhotoSyn™
Uniqsis

The Uniqsis PhotoSyn has been designed to provide scientists with a high-power LED light source for continuous flow applications.

Available with a selection of different LED arrays the unit can provide outputs up to 700W from the dedicated programmable power supply. Customized units (e.g. 385nm, 420nm) are available on request.

The curved, water (or gas) cooled LED arrays focus the available light on the central coil reactor to maximize the photon intensity.

The PhotoSyn has been thoughtfully engineered to completely prevent potentially hazardous light emissions from the unit and is protected with interlocks that deactivate the light source if any attempt is made to remove the cover whilst in operation. In addition, a fan both prevents the build-up of static hot air within the lamp unit and removes any vapor that may accumulate over time.

The PhotoSyn is compatible with the Uniqsis Cold Coil II(shown fitted opposite) and Polar Bear Plus Flow reactor modules. These reactor modules are available separately.

FlowSyn is a fully integrated, 2 channel benchtop continuous flow reactor that combines 2 high-pressure pump channels and 2 reactor modules in a single compact unit. FlowSyn’s high-resolution user interface quickly guides you through the process of setting up and running flow chemistry reactions.

The unit can operate in either manual or fully automated modes, in the latter case ensuring that critical experiment parameters remain within defined limits, and can easily be reconfigured for a variety of experiments. Pump performance is constantly monitored and the user is alerted to potential flow rate variations.

All FlowSyns are fitted with the latest specification chemically resistant pump heads and injection valves and can be specified with either PTFE, 316L stainless steel, or Hastelloy C-276 flow paths for optimal chemical compatibility.

Choose FlowSyn for small-scale single reactions (flow rate up to 20 ml/min). Add HotCoil(s) to increase reactor volume and throughput. For even higher throughput, choose FlowSyn Maxi.

Upgrade by adding a Multi-X fraction collector package in order to automatically run up to 10 sequential reactions, a Binary Pump Module to add additional pump channels, or a Polar Bear Plus Flow or Cold Coil cryogenic reactor module.

Polar Bear Plus GSM™

The Polar Bear Plus GSM™ is a state-of-the-art heating and cooling reactor module for flow chemistry applications utilizing glass static mixers and reactors (GSMs).

Remarkably, although not much bigger than a shoe box, this compact and portable unit can maintain reactor temperatures anywhere between -30oC and +150oC!

The Polar Bear Plus GSM reactor is easy to use and is completely self-contained, requiring only an electricity supply for operation - no card-ice, refrigerants, or messy heat transfer fluids!

Compatible with all standard Uniqsis glass chip reactors, the Polar Bear Plus GSM makes an ideal and flexible addition to an existing FlowSyn. Alternatively, this reactor module can be combined with a Uniqsis Binary Pump Module as the basis for a modular FlowLab Plus flow reactor system.
